About the project
The Green Londoner is a media platform and guide to greener living in the capital. This green living website for London covers eco-friendly travel, food, ethical restaurants, outdoor activities, and sustainable communities, and keeps readers up to date on environmental policy and the city’s climate challenges.
The home page splits its content into two strands, one on what London is doing about climate issues and one on how to live greener, with recent articles shown under each.
My work on the site
I designed and built the site in WordPress and Elementor. The headline invites visitors to reimagine green living in London, the main menu mirrors the two strands on the page, and a newsletter sign-up and links to LinkedIn and Instagram sit near the foot of the page.
The site runs on my managed hosting, where I keep WordPress and its plugins up to date, watch its security, and keep regular backups.
What visitors find
Articles on subjects such as London’s open gardens, starting a community food group for families, and shaping sustainability through craft, plus an about page and a contact email. Readers can subscribe to the newsletter for news and updates.
