About the project

The Little Potter is the pottery of Maria Murtagh, and this stoneware pottery website puts her handthrown work at the centre. Maria makes domestic ware, including jugs, mugs and bowls of all sizes, and the site shows her recent pieces alongside the art fairs where she exhibits.

She also writes a blog about how she makes her work, including a post that walks through making a moon jar from two bowl forms joined together.

My work on the site

I designed and built the site on WordPress and WooCommerce, with a simple menu of Home, Portfolio, About, Blog and Contact. A forthcoming events section sits at the top of the home page, followed by Maria’s recent work as images that enlarge when clicked.

I also set up the online shop. The site runs on my managed hosting, so WordPress, WooCommerce and the plugins stay up to date, and I watch security and keep regular backups.

What visitors find

A portfolio of Maria’s recent work, a forthcoming events section for her art fairs, a blog on the making process, and a newsletter sign-up for news of new products and where she is exhibiting.

If you make or sell your own work and want a site that shows it well, have a look at my website design.
