About the project
Ruth Shaw is a humanistic counsellor in the Rushcliffe area of Nottingham, offering counselling face to face, online by Zoom, and by phone. This counsellor website in Nottingham is written for adults and young people who may feel anxious and unsure if counselling is right for them.
Ruth works with issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, relationships, stress, and low self-esteem, offering short or long-term work. She puts the client at the heart of her practice and says they are the expert on their own life.
My work on the site
In October 2026 I updated the site, rebuilding the home page, the footer and the privacy page in Elementor.
I look after the site’s SEO, so it shows up when people search for counselling in Rushcliffe and Nottingham. The site also runs on my managed hosting, with WordPress and its plugins kept up to date, security watched, and regular backups taken.
What visitors find
A prices and FAQs page explains the fee, what happens in a first session, how many sessions to expect, cancellations, and confidentiality. The first call is a free assessment of up to 20 minutes, and visitors can phone, email, or use an enquiry form. Ruth is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and the footer lists where to get urgent help.
