About the project
Disaster Action is made up of survivors and bereaved people from disasters in the UK and overseas, and this charity website for the UK explains the support, advice, and guidance it offers to people dealing with the human impact of a disaster. The charity has more than 30 years of experience helping people directly affected.
It also gives information and assistance to emergency planners, responders, and other professionals in emergency management.
My work on the site
I designed and built the site in WordPress and Elementor. The home page is kept simple. It opens with a single sentence about what Disaster Action does, then offers three routes: support for bereaved people and survivors, guidance for emergency planners and responders, and contact details for media and press enquiries.
I look after the hosting as well. That means keeping WordPress and its plugins up to date, watching security, and keeping regular backups.
What visitors find
Pages on the charity’s story and its collective conviction, support pages covering disaster support, guidance for responders, and specialist services, and a contact page. Privacy and cookie policies are linked from the footer.
