About the project
Ealing Business is my own project, a business directory website for Ealing with a membership scheme, events listings and resources for small businesses, sole traders and professionals. It covers Acton, Ealing, Hanwell, West Ealing, Southall, Northolt, Greenford and Park Royal.
It began in 2018, when I was running a co-working group in Ealing and kept struggling to find a photographer, bookkeeper or builder locally that I could vouch for.
My work on the site
I designed and built the site on WordPress and manage it myself. Visitors can search by business or area, browse categories from accountants to yoga therapists, and see upcoming events from the home page.
The site runs on my managed hosting, with the same updates, security checks and regular backups I give my clients.
What visitors find
A searchable directory of more than 300 businesses, free listings with paid Verified and Spotlight tiers, an events calendar, a FAQ section and practical guides, including a local SEO checklist for Ealing businesses. The site says it has no investors and is funded by member subscriptions and my own business.
