About the project
Your Space Counselling supports children, young people, and adults in Essex and across the UK, face to face and online. This counsellor website in Essex is written in the voice of Janet, who says she is most passionate about supporting people with a Special Educational Need (SEN) diagnosis, disordered eating, anxiety, or self-injurious behaviours.
Janet works in several ways, including talking therapy, creative therapy, art therapy, sand tray therapy, and CBT, and the invitation to book is for the visitor or for a loved one.
My work on the site
I designed and built the site in WordPress and Elementor. A Therapy Areas menu has pages on anxiety and panic attacks, self-injury, and SEN needs, and a section on the first session acknowledges that starting counselling can feel daunting, especially for children and young people.
The site runs on my managed hosting. I keep WordPress and its plugins up to date, watch its security, and keep regular backups.
What visitors find
Sections on Janet’s training, how she works, and the first session, along with testimonials from parents and clients. Janet is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works within its ethical framework, and her training includes CBT, eating disorders, autism, and ADHD.
