About the project
The Business Beanstalk is a networking group for business owners in Ealing, Acton, Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Kew, and Richmond, and this networking group website is its home online. A team of business owners started it in 2023 because they wanted networking with a purpose, not a pile of swapped business cards.
Open sessions, such as lunch and learns and happy hour socials, alternate with members-only meetings where members support each other. Membership is by application.
My work on the site
I designed and built the site in WordPress and Elementor. A monthly schedule sets out which Wednesday is which kind of meeting, where it meets, and how to book, so guests can see at a glance which sessions are open to them.
Upcoming events, a members page with a login, and a newsletter sign-up sit alongside it. I host the site too. WordPress and its plugins get regular updates, I keep watch on security, and backups are taken regularly.
What visitors find
The home page explains what the group stands for and how membership works, including that it takes one business per profession. Upcoming events are listed through Ealing Business, and visitors can join the mailing list or use the contact form to ask about the next Beanstalk event.
