About the project
Pitshanger Books is an independent bookshop that has stood on Pitshanger Lane in Ealing for nearly 30 years. This bookshop website in Ealing lets customers browse and order online, with every order click and collect only.
The shop sells children’s books, fiction, non-fiction, book tokens and non-book items, takes pre-orders, and has a section for local books and writers.
My work on the site
I designed and built the site in WordPress, Elementor and WooCommerce, and I set up the online shop. Customers choose from the categories in the menu, add books to a basket and go through the checkout, with a note at the top making clear that all orders are click and collect.
The site is on my managed hosting. I keep WordPress, WooCommerce and the plugins up to date, watch security and keep regular backups.
What visitors find
Categories for each kind of book, a pre-order page, a Local Books and Writers section, and an About and Community page. The shop’s address, opening hours and phone number are on the home page, along with links to its Facebook and Instagram.
