Quick-Start Guide

The quick marketing tips are going to be 3-5 minute videos that will highlight some great tools and systems that I use.

Today’s topic is Answer The Public – an online data visualisation tool that allows you to see what people are searching in relation to a key word or phrase. It shows you all of the ways in which this is being used on Google. Helping you to create new content ideas and inspire social media posts.

You can download this information at a CSV. This helps put the data in a shareable format, should you wish to have someone do hashtag research for you or prepare social media posts.

The data is broken down into:

  • Questions
  • Prepositions
  • Comparisons
  • Alphabetical
  • Related Topics

When you have looked through the data you can come to the next step. Looking at Related Topics you can see the next key things that stand out. Within this section the darker the circle is, the more popular it is.  You can save this image or create data from it. For a small business, you do not need to use the ‘pro’ version, there is enough data within the free version to get you started.

Questions

When we look at our key word example (Marketing), we can see in terms of questions it is broken down into:

  • Who
  • What
  • Where
  • When
  • Why
  • How
  • Which
  • Are

These are also written in priority order with the colour of the circle indicating their popularity. From this you can identify which sections are relevant for your business, not all of them will work for your business.

This section is great to help you write headlines and articles. It will give you an idea of what people are searching for.

Prepositions

This section is split into:

  • Near
  • To
  • Without
  • With
  • Can
  • Is

This can help you to identify sentences that can be useful in your social media posts. What are the phrases people use when searching for your business.

Comparisons

This section is a great way to write brilliant reviews when you are looking for a like for like basis. Here you can look at the specific differences between industries or words helping you to differentiate your business and stand out.

Alphabetical

The function of this section allows you to go down through the list of ideas. This gives you a long list of searched terms.

Importantly, these key words will not only help with your content but give you inspiration for your SEO on your website.
